Wofford students study abroad during Interim 2015
Wofford's Interim is a time for exploration and experiential learning away from the rigors of traditional academic courses for students and faculty alike. Students may choose from a variety of on-campus courses, professional internships and research projects, study abroad opportunities or their own independent study project, approved and guided by a faculty advisor. More than 200 students chose to study abroad during Interim 2014.

Wofford students spend summer consulting for area businesses
Seventeen Wofford students are participating in The Institute, a program created by the college in 2009 to help students learn professional skills such as networking, public speaking and consulting before graduation to help them better compete for jobs. The Institute runs from July 7 through August 1. The students will manage consulting projects for four businesses: MUSC, Dave Edwards Toyota, Fight Card and Treefalls. In preparation for their projects, Institute students learn the basic skills needed to function in a professional environment.

Wofford College confers degrees to 360 graduates
Dr. Nayef H. Samhat delivered his first commencement address since becoming Wofford College's president at the 160th Commencement Exercises on Sunday, May 18, 2014. Degrees were conferred to about 360 graduates. Samhat became president in July 2013 and his inauguration was held April 25 of this year.

Clemson University students help villagers in Honduras during spring break
Clemson University students participated in a trip to El Progreso, Honduras, during spring break to help build a school.
They mixed and poured concrete before laying the cinder block foundation of Democracia Middle School. They also spent time with the children of the village, a tutoring them or starting games of soccer.

The Sophomore Experience is a fast-paced, conference-style event to provide students with the information they need to develop a plan for their remaining two years at Wofford College. Wofford students spend summer consulting for area businesses
Twenty Wofford students are participating in The Institute, a program created by the college in 2009 to help students learn professional skills such as networking, public speaking and consulting before graduation to help them better compete for jobs. The Institute runs from July 8 through August 2. Divided into groups, the students will tackle a problem for one of four local companies: the Boy Scouts of America Palmetto Council, globalbike, Michelin North America, and Milliken and Co. In preparation for their projects, Institute students learn the basic skills needed to function in a professional environment.
